There is a new increased offer of 35,000 Starpoints available on both the personal and business SPG American Express credit cards.

This is the highest level offer ever seen with these cards, and frankly I don’t know if we will see again due to the Marriott and Starwood merger.

For this reason it’s an ideal time to apply for the cards and earn the higher sign-up bonus if you have not had the cards before.

For myself, I’m glad to see these offers come around again and I plan on applying for the business card as I’ve yet to have it.

The Offers

Both the person and business cards are offering up to 35,000 points, however the spending requirements and some perks differ between the two cards.

SPG Credit Card from American Express

The bonus offer on the personal Starwood Preferred Guest American Express Credit Card  is 25,000 points after spending $3,000 within the first 3 months and an additional 10,000 points after spending another $2,000 within the first 6 months.

Quick review: Starpoints are incredibly valuable when redeemed for free nights and flexible since you can transfer them to numerous airline programs. When Starpoints are transferred to an airline program in increments of 20,000 points you get 5,000 extra miles. This means that for every dollar you spend on the card you are essentially earning 1.25 miles of the airline of your choice.

Should You Apply?

If you have yet to apply for one of these cards it’s now a great time to do. Both the personal card and business card are offering an all-time highest bonus offer with the Marriott and Starwood merger moving along it’s only time before these cards disappear.

However, remember that per American Express’s rule, if you have had either of these card you are not eligible to earn the sign-up bonus.
