If you’ve been collecting points with American Airlines, then you have a few hours left until their 50% mileage bonus promotion ends at midnight with potential of earning 30k bonus miles on top of 60k purchased.

AA has been offering this deal as a promotional offer in lieu of their new look and step towards modernizing the airline.

What’s unique about this offer is that it’s rare for AA to offer a 50% bonus for purchased miles, but they did offer it in November of last year. The offer is open to everyone for purchase just as long you have an AA Advantage account.

The minimum amount that you would have to spend to receive the bonus is $147 for 5,000 miles and 1500 bonus points. However, you get the most bang for your buck beginning at the 20k tier at 2 cents per mile.

5000 – 9999 miles purchased earns 1500 bonus miles
10,000 – 14,000 miles purchased earns 3000 bonus miles
15,000 – 19,000 miles purchased earns 4500 bonus miles
20,000 – 29,000 miles purchased earns 10,000 bonus miles
30,000 – 39,000 miles purchased earns 15,000 bonus miles
40,000 – 49,000 miles purchased earns 20,000 bonus miles
50,000 – 59,000 miles purchased earns 25,000 bonus miles
60,000 miles purchased earns 30,000 bonus miles

It takes about 72 hours for your purchased miles to be posted to your account and 5 days for bonus points.
