There is now an increased welcome bonus of 60,000 miles plus a $50 statement credit available on the Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express cards (OFFERS EXPIRED).
This higher offer is available on both the personal and business version of the card. Currently it appears that the increased offer is only live on Amex’s website (links below).

Last year when these cards had an increased offer available I ended up applying for both the personal and business version of the card to earn a total of 100,000 SkyMiles and $100 in statement credits.
Since Amex has a one bonus per card rule I always recommend applying when the welcome bonus is at it’s highest level.

Card Benefits & Review
You can get the 60,000 mile offer on either the personal or the business version of the card, it’s just that the spending requirements vary by $1,000. The benefits are essentially the same between the two.
The Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express can be a good card option for anyone who frequently flies on Delta.
You’ll get some added benefits for having the card and charging your Delta purchases to the card will boost your mileage earning.
Card benefits:
- Earn 2X miles per dollar spent on Delta purchases.
- Earn 1X mile per dollar spent on all other purchases.
- Free first checked bag on Delta flights.
- Priority boarding on Delta flights.
- 20% savings on Delta in-flight purchases (food, beverages, movies, etc).
- No foreign transaction fees.
- Annual fee: Waived the first year, then $95.
The current welcome bonus is quite generous and I consider it a good value ($500 to $600 in value) even if when I don’t rank Delta SkyMiles as one of the more valuable airline miles to earn.
The bottom line with most air miles, and more specifically with Delta SkyMiles, is that you can still get value from them but it is essential that you book far enough in advance to lock in a saver award price.
The Bottom Line
The increased 60,000 mile plus $50 statement credit offer on Amex Gold Delta SkyMiles credit cards may be a valuable card for anyone who frequently travel with Delta or is looking to top off their SkyMiles account with some extra miles.
If you’ve never had this card before this current offer may be worth looking into if you’ve been thinking about applying for this card or can use the card’s benefits. And Lastly, remember that Amex has a rule that you can only earn the welcome bonus once per card per lifetime.
rrrman, there are mixed reports of people successfully (or unsuccessfully) getting Amex to match a higher offer. The best route is to call in and ask to speak to a supervisor, then once you get them on the line request for an offer match. In either case it’s worth a try and hope it works out!
