In support of Small Business Week Chase is increasing the signup bonus for it’s Ink Plus and Ink Bold business cards to 60,000 bonus points when spending $5,000 in the first 3 months from now until June 22nd. If you get the card this week that’s a 10,000 point bonus on top of the normal 50,000 offer.
The bonus offer for the Ink Cash and Ink Classic card is also 5,000 bonus points higher than the normal 20,000 point offer. From June 16th through June 22nd, anyone who signs up for an Ink from Chase credit card from will receive the additional bonus points.
Chase Ink Plus: 60,000 points after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months.
Chase Ink Bold: 60,000 points after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months.
Ink Cash and Ink Classic: 25,000 points after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months.
The difference between the Ink Plus and Bold is that the Plus card is a traditional credit card, whereas the Bold card is a charge card and you must pay the balance in full each month.
Both the Ink Bold and Ink Plus cards are some of my favorite cards because you will:
- Earn 5x points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent annually at office supply stores, and on cellular phone, landline, internet, and cable TV services.
- Earn 2X points for gas & hotel purchases
- And there are NO foreign transaction fees
When applying for a Chase business card you can apply as a sole proprietor and use your name as business name and your social security number for tax id. Your business can be a small side business (e.i. selling things on ebay, designing web sites, etc) or can even be a start-up business that has yet to make revenue.
If your application is pending it always helps to call into the Chase reconsideration line at 800-453-9719 to talk with a representative that can help you get your application approved. Be sure to mention how you would love to get approved for the card and look forward to using it to keep your business expenses separate. If you have other Chase credit cards I have found great success in asking to transfer credit from an existing card in order to approve me for the card I just applied for, you can also mention that you don’t need a large credit limit if that will help you get approved.
Ultimate Rewards Transfer Partners
60,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points is an amazing offer because you can transfer the points at 1:1 ratio to airline and hotels transfer partners such as United Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, Hyatt, Marriott, Priority Club, Ritz Carlton, Korean Air, Southwest, and Amtrak. You will basically get $750 (1.25 cent per point) in travel rewards if you redeem your points directly from Chase’s website by searching for flights, hotels, and rental cars.
Value of 60k Rapid Rewards Points
To maximize the value of the points you will want to transfer them to partners. You can get $1,000+ in free flights with Southwest Airlines when you book Wanna Get Away fares on southwest.com. If you transfer 60k points to United you can get a roundtrip economy or a one way business class ticket to Europe/Asia/South America on United or any of the 27 Star Alliance partners. Another great value for redeeming UR points is for Hyatt and Priority Club award nights, and with 60k points you can get 3+ free nights at a category 5 Hyatt or 4 free nights at a category 2 Priority Club hotel such as the Holiday Inn Sisli in Istanbul that could be worth $1,000+.
The Bottom Line
Chase rarely increases the signup bonuses from the normal 50k on these cards and the last time was over a year ago, so if you have been considering applying for either the Ink Plus and Ink Bold now is probably the best time because you will get an extra 10,000 bonus points. Since this is a limited time offer that is only available from June 16-22nd make sure you do it before the end of the week.
Even though I am not ready for another round of credit card applications I plan on applying for the Ink Plus this week since I am looking to build up my United miles again after booking a 100k business class ticket to Europe this fall.
