Chase has officially announced the release of the Chase Sapphire Reserve card via The Points Guy. The card is set to officially launch next week (rumored August 21, 2016).
Application Links Went Live (Then Pulled)
Earlier today applications for the long anticipated and much hyped Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card went live for a short while today before being pulled.
Over at Reddit Churning there has been much discussion and a handful of results posted from readers being approved for the card and confirming the 100k bonus information. For right now your best bet for updates may be to stay tuned at /r/churning on this thread.
There’s no official news whether Chase released live application links today as a test run, but given that the card is set to launch next week it appears that it may have been an error.
However after a short window of being live all application links are now currently broken. There are also reports that the links that went live did not have language regarding the 100k point sign-up bonus. As for now, I’d recommend holding off applying until there is an application available that includes this info.
The Card, Bonus, & 5/24 Rule
Over the last week a lot more confirmed information on the Chase Sapphire Reserve card has surfaced. These include:
- 100k Ultimate Rewards point sign-up bonus
- $300 annual travel credit & lounge access
- $100 global entry fee credit
- 3X points on travel and dining
- 1X points on all other purchases
- $450 annual fee
Readers on /r/churning have reported successfully being approved for the card even when over the 5/24 limit. If this holds true this will be great news for many of us currently being restricted from Chase cards due to the 5/24 rule.
What to do now? I’d suggest sitting tight until the card is officially launched and bonus language is clear on the application.
