Mekong delta ho chi ming city vietnam

This photo is from a tour of the Mekong Delta outside of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. After crossing through Cambodia we spent 5 days in Ho Chi Minh City and decided to explore the Mekong Delta for one day.

There are many (like hundreds) of tour operators in Ho Chi Minh City selling packaged 1-2 day tours of the Mekong Delta. We ended up booking a one day tour which only cost around $12 per person.

For the cost it was a great way to see part of the region, but don’t expect a completely authentic experience due to the fact that almost all the tour operators use the same route. All said and done it was a day well spent and the sights along the journey were half the fun.
