Over the weekend you may have noticed a few changes around the blog. With the changes I thought I would point out a few new features and updates to Well Traveled Mile.
New Travel Section
I’ve created a new travel section and added it to the main menu. Here you can find any and all travel related posts that are not necessarily miles & points related. Over the next year of full-time travel I will write about various travel experiences that I find worth sharing, including cities I explore, unique foods, various adventures, hiking trails, random rants, and much more.
I will continue to post all trip reports within the main blog, but have added a permanent ‘Trip Reports’ page containing a list of all past hotel, flight, and airport lounge reviews.
You will be able to easily find all of these reviews through the ‘Trip Reports’ tab off the main menu and sort the trip report tables to easily locate reviews by hotel, airline, country, etc. You can look for many more trip reports to be added over the next several months.
Monthly Miles & Points Spending Totals
I created a public spreadsheet to track my monthly miles and point spending within the ‘Travel’ section. I will also likely add total monthly travel costs (food, activities, etc) so it gives a more realistic representation of the full-time travel. For now I will be publishing a monthly breakdown of hotel stays and flights and note whether they are paid with points/miles, cash, or best rate guarantees.
You can find a separate sheet for hotels and airlines by clicking the Flights or Hotels tab on the bottom of the spreadsheet.
I also made some small updates to the blog including several font changes and hope that they read more clearly. I have always found it hard to find a font that both looks great and is easy on the eyes, so let me know what you think!
As always if you have any other suggestions, whether if be layout of the blog, posts you want to see covered, etc, please leave them in comments!
