There are so many choices out there when it comes to luggage. Oftentimes, they are very expensive, which is fine for the traveling businessman who will get his money’s worth. But for the occasional traveler, it can be quite the sticker shock.
Someone who travels maybe once or twice a year often doesn’t want all of the fancy materials and special features. They just want something that will survive the trip while transporting their things to their final destination.
In this Revo luggage review, you will find just that: suitcases that are reliable, affordable, and suitable for every type of traveler.

Revo is headquartered right in Mira Loma, California and was established with the goal of bringing manufacturing back to the USA.
Being short for “revolution,” the company bases its entire philosophy around this word. Just as the wheels constantly revolve as you travel with their suitcases, their engineers are constantly working to revolutionize and improve their products.
By creating their products in the USA, they are helping to create jobs and “re-establish the 20thcentury might of domestic production.”
At Revo, customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance. They are committed to making sure you are happy with your purchase and that your luggage is built to last, backing their products with a 10-year warranty that covers any manufacturing defects.
What makes Revo luggage stand out? What features can you expect to see in their suitcases and what type of quality are you looking at?
The majority of Revo’s luggage collections have spinner suitcases available in 3 main sizes: 20-inch (carry-on), 25-inch, and 30-inch.
There are a few exceptions, including the 17-inch work trolleys, some of the softside cases, and a few duffle bags.
Many of Revo’s luggage models, both hardside and softside, include expansion capabilities, giving you about 2 more inches of depth to fit everything you need for your trip.
Most of Revo’s suitcase designs are relatively straightforward. Their hardside cases are glossy, with the exception of the Commando which has more of a brushed/matte look. In addition, the colors available are mostly neutral or simple colors such as black, navy, and red.
Currently, they have 5 luggage collections. These include:
• Luna – highly glossed with a ribbed texture
• Commando – with diamond emboss finish
• Impact II – slightly diamond cut texture
• Twist – solely softside
• Drop Bottom – their line of duffle bags
These are just the ones available on their site. Other pieces from previous collections can be found through third-party sellers or retail sites such as Amazon.
As with most suitcase models on the market, Revo gives you both hardside and softside options, giving you the flexibility to find something that fits your needs and travel style.
Their hardside cases are made with 100% Bayer Makrolon Virgin Polycarbonate, which is resistant against UV rays (no color fade) and virtually unbreakable.
The softside cases are nothing to be overlooked. Made with ballistic dobby polyester or nylon – originally intended to protect soldiers from flying debris during WWII – these suitcases are protected against snags and tears.
Overall, I would say that the weight of Revo’s various suitcases are about average.
I wouldn’t call them the most lightweight suitcases with their 30-inch hardside models coming in at a little over 12 pounds, which takes a pretty big chunk out of your 50-pound weight limit for checked bags. Even the Twist 29 softside spinner is 12 pounds.
But their smaller cases are relatively lightweight and give you a little more flexibility in your packing before you reach the allowed weight maximum.
Most of Revo’s cases come with exceptional internal storage options. There are very few that only give you one large open compartment where all of your small and loose items get lost.
The majority of the hardside models feature at least one enclosed, zippered side; a few close on both sides.
The Impact II collection is especially worth noting for its internal storage. On one side there are compression straps, but on the zippered side, there are additional pockets and zippered compartments to keep your smaller items safe and in place.
Of course, the softside options have a bit more storage for smaller items with their exterior zippered pockets that are easy to access.
It seems that padlocks are a big no-no on suitcases traveling through TSA. They are often cut in order to examine bags, leaving the owner feeling that their privacy was violated and wondering if all of their belongings are still present.
Most of Revo’s hardside suitcases come fitted with a TSA-approved combination lock, which ensures that TSA and baggage handlers stay out of your stuff and that your bag isn’t damaged.
Mobility is important in a suitcase; you need to make sure it will go where you want it to. When you look for a suitcase, you also want to look at its wheels.
Upright spinners are often the top choice for travelers. They provide excellent mobility with 360 spinner wheels while remaining upright to carry briefcases or purses.
Revo’s suitcase wheels aren’t necessarily anything special, but they do have spinner cases with rubber coated wheels that provide good traction and mobility.
As previously mentioned, Revo’s suitcase materials are highly durable, both the hardside cases and softside. They are built to withstand rough baggage handlers and resist scratches, tears, and heavy objects.
The Luna suitcase is a standout piece in regards to its durability. In fact, it was found to be one of the best American hardside suitcases in 2018 by All American Reviews.
Another point of quality worth noting with Revo’s suitcases and duffle bags are their zippers. Each bag is fitted with durable #10 self-repairing zippers. So if for any reason your zipper teeth were to come apart while closing your bag, all you need to do is open and close it again to fix it.
You can definitely place more trust in a luggage manufacturer that backs their products with an extended warranty, and Revo does just that. They believe in their products; they trust them to last. And they believe in customer satisfaction, keeping you happy with your purchase.
Revo offers an extended 10-year warranty that covers any manufacturing defaults that may be discovered during that time. If you find that your product is defective, they will repair or replace it.
Now, this warranty doesn’t cover any normal wear and tear, or any damaged due to accident or misuse including damage by baggage handlers. These cases should be taken up with the airline, not with Revo.
With all these choices Revo has to offer we will help you get started.

If you find a suitcase you like, you are likely going to want to buy every size available in a matching set. After all, you never know when you might need something a little smaller or bigger for your next trip.
The Revo Impact II set gives you all three sizes of their spinner cases in one simple purchase. No need to chase down the matching pieces only to find they are no longer available.
Included in the set are the 30”, 25”, and 20” spinner cases in the Impact II line, each weighing 12.35 pounds, 9.7 pounds, and 7.4 pounds respectively.
They are made with 100% Makrolon Bayer Polypropylene (with scratch resistant technology) and durable #10 self-repairing zippers.
The interior is divided into compartments for more organized storage. There is one zippered side with additional compartments for smaller items and the other side is equipped with compression straps for larger items.
This set is available in both navy and burgundy.
I often find that hardside suitcases can be difficult to use as a carry-on; the exterior shell doesn’t give you any wiggle room to squeeze it into the overhead compartment and often has a curved shape which doesn’t always fit right.
The Revo Luna 22” spinner is the perfect solution to these problems thanks to its compact size and streamlined shape.
In addition to being voted one of the best, most durable American suitcases in 2018 – thanks to its highly durable 100% Bayer Makrolon Virgin Polycarbonate shell – this carry-on sized suitcase is also extremely lightweight at only 6.9 pounds.
A few other features worth noting are the #10 self-repairing zippers, dual caster spinner wheels, and integrated TSA combination lock.
Each piece in the Luna collection is available in black, navy, purple, red, and silver.
Good softside suitcases can be hard to come by. They are often so simple and not quite durable enough to be considered for a frequent traveler.
However, the Twist spinner from Revo is a great choice if you are looking for something that holds your belongings without the extra bulk associated with hardside cases.
The exterior is made with high-density two-tone ballistic dobby polyester, protecting this bag from snags and scratches. Don’t be fooled by its soft exterior though; it is highly durable and also slightly heavy (12 pounds).
The interior offers excellent storage options. It is fully lined and includes a removable wet pouch, tie down straps, a mesh zip pocket, and shoe pockets.
It is only available in gray, but its soft, classy look will go with just about everything else you own.
Another great piece from the Luna collection, this work trolley is the perfect piece for the traveling salesman (or woman!).
This piece is the perfect companion to the Luna spinner case we previously looked at. You have the same design elements – polycarbonate shell, recessed TSA lock, self-repairing zippers, and sleek exterior – in a smaller piece designed to carry everything you need for work.
Inside, you will find a fan file system that is handy for organizing all your documents for your meetings. There is also a removable computer sleeve that fits up to a 15 or 16” laptop.
The case is carry-on approved and easy to maneuver with 8 rubber spinner wheels and only weighing 6.7 pounds.
Sometimes you don’t need all the bells and whistles in a suitcase, and the Traffic Light spinner is a great choice for someone who only travels on occasion or just needs something for their upcoming cruise.
This suitcase is carry-on approved at 20” x 14” x 8”, with the ability to expand its depth by 2”. Just like with Revo’s other softside suitcases, the Traffic Lightis made with durable dobby nylon.
Its ultra-lightweight construction (6.2 pounds) should not be underestimated. It is not only strong and durable, but the bottom is lined with a polypropylene tray for additional stability and durability when transporting heavy items.
Overall, the design is very simple, making this an affordable suitcase without all the fancy features you may find in some higher end bags. There are a few exterior zippered pockets and the interior just has two adjustable straps to keep your bigger items in place.
The Revo Traffic Light is available in both black and orange.
While Revo may not be the most highly sought-after luggage company, they create good quality products at an affordable price right in the USA. While many of their products are excellent, here are a few that are definitely worth your attention.
As a companion to the Luna suitcase or as a standalone piece, the Luna work trolley is a great choice for the traveling businessman. It is lightweight and perfect as a carry-on piece with all of the organization and storage you need to carry your work items.
For the occasional traveler, a hardside case isn’t always necessary. Instead, you may want to look into purchasing a soft case like the Traffic Light. It’s still reliable and durable without the extra weight and bulk that comes with a hardside case.
With Revo’s attention to quality and customer satisfaction, you can be sure that their products are built to last – with a 10-year warranty to back them up.
