Good news for some US Airways Premier World MasterCard holders, now you can get a 50% rebate in miles redeemed until November 30, 2013 and up to a maximum of 30,000 rebated miles! Barclays has been rolling out some great promotions for existing card members. During the summer months the offer was for an additional 15,000 miles if you spend $750 a month for three months and now you can get a 50% kickback on any redeemed miles up to 30k miles.

This promotion is targeted so check your inbox for an email that says “Get More for your Miles: Limited- time Offer” in the subject line and looks like this:

Barclays is offering this offer to selected existing US Airways Premier World MasterCard holders and per the terms and conditions, the offer is valid for awards booked between now and November 30, 2013 for travel that is completed by March 31,2014. There are several levels of the offer floating around with the highest bonus rebate offered at 50%, and then 25%, and 10%. For all offers the maximum rebate your can earn is 30,000 miles.

To qualify for the promotion you must redeem at least 20,000 miles during the period to get the rebate, but all award bookings will qualify–this includes upgrades. For example to get the maximum amount rebated you would need to book at least 60k miles during this period, and you would receive 30k miles back 3-4 weeks after booking.

Since I was not targeted for this offer it leads me to believe that if you were targeted for the 15,000 bonus miles after spending $750 per month this summer you will not receive this offer. Please let me know if you get both!

This offer is interesting because you still need the total amount required for the award booking, but you will receive a rebate for the miles redeemed 3-4 weeks after booking. It is not quite as good as a half-off sale, but close to it in terms of receiving up to 50% of the miles redeemed back to use for future travel.

If you were targeted for this promotion let me know, especially if you received the 15k mile promotion as well! I certainly think this is a great offer if you have any spring travel lined up, and since US airways offers some great award values and overall the chart is very generous you can get a ton of value out of your miles. Don’t forget that all cardholders also get the exclusive benefit of redeeming flights for 5,000 fewer miles.
