Club Carlson just released a new promo offering 3,000 bonus Gold Points per stay when you book and complete the stay using Club Carlson’s mobile app. The promotion period is good for stays between September 8 and November 16, 2014.
Although this is not as valuable as IHG’s recent promo offering 2 free nights at any hotel, you can still earn a considerable bonus on Club Carlson Bookings. Considering that by using the 2 for 1 award night benefit of the Club Carlson Visa you can get award nights at a cost of only 4,500 points per night. That means that with three paid Club Carlson stays you will earn 9,000 bonus points that can be redeemed for 2 free nights at a category 1 property when you are a Club Carlson Visa cardholder. That’s actually a really good bonus and there is no limit to the amount of points that can be earned.
The kicker with this promo comes with the fact that Club Carlson already has one of the highest point earning structures for elite status members. If you’re a Club Carlson Rewards member you will already earn 20 points per dollar spent at hotels. If you are a Gold member, which you can get for free from the Club Carlson Premier Rewards Visa Signature card, then you will earn an extra 35% point bonus. To top that, if you pay for the stay with your Club Carlson Carlson Visa you’ll be earning an additional 10 points per dollar---placing the standard total points earning at 37 points per dollar.
After factoring in the 3,000 bonus points per stay with the current promo, you are essentially earning 2 free nights after spending $162 at Club Carlson properties. If you stay at cheaper properties you can even make this more valuable, and Club Carlson is almost giving you free nights to stay in their hotels.
Just for numbers sake, say you book three stays at a Club Carlson hotel that runs $100 per night. You will earn a total of 20,100 points from the stays which is enough for 2 nights at a category 2 hotel or 4 nights at a category 1 hotel when using the 2 for 1 award night benefit of the Club Carlson Visa.
Some important notes about the promo include that only paid cash rates are eligible for the 3,000 bonus Gold Points. This means both award nights and points + cash will not qualify. You will be credited the bonus points at the same time that the normal points you earn from your stay are deposited to your account.

"You must be an existing Club Carlson member to participate in the 3K Bonus Mobile App Promotion (“Promotion”). To be eligible to earn 3,000 points (“Bonus Points”) you must make a reservation on the Club Carlson mobile app between September 8, 2014 and November 16, 2014 (“Promotional Period”) and pay in full for a Gold Points-eligible stay at Quorvus Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inns & Suites By Carlson hotels worldwide beginning on or after September 8, 2014, and completed by November 16, 2014 (“Eligible Stays”). Members may earn multiple bonuses during the Promotional Period. Stays paid for using Points + Cash are not eligible for this Promotion.
Both the check-in and checkout dates of the stay must take place within the Promotional Period. Bonus Points will be credited to your account when the standard Gold Points are credited for the Eligible Stay. Bonus Points do not apply to Elite member bonus points or other bonus point earnings.
Club Carlson reserves the right to add, modify, or discontinue the Promotion with or without notice. Void where prohibited by law. By participating in this Promotion, you agree and consent to these Terms and Conditions and the Club Carlson Terms and Conditions."
