The beautiful city Budapest has a lot to offer. Not just the stunning architecture throughout Hungary’s capital is taking you in, also the many impressive hotels, like the new Párisi Udvar Hotel Budapest from the Unbound Collection by Hyatt will make you want to stay more than one night in Budapest.
The brand new Hyatt hotel is perfectly located in the 5th district of Budapest, at Ferenciek Square, which is in the historic “Pest” side of Budapest, east of the Danube river (Buda is on the west). Right in front of the hotel, there is even a subway station as well as the pedestrian street with all the shops and restaurants you need.Within walking distance you will reach not just numerous cafés but also the historic Elisabeth Bridge, the former Klotild Palaces, the Hungarian National Museum as well as the very impressive Dohány Street Synagogue.
In the heart of Budapest, the palatial hotel Párisi Udvar (engl. Paris Courtyard) occupied a former Art Nouveau shopping arcade of the early 20th century as well as apartments and offices later. Luckily this historical building, which was completed in the year 1931 did not get devasted in World War II and hasn’t been substanitally renovated since then. That’s what makes this ornate city passage a unprecedented treasure from the past.
The opulent gold, marble and glass interiors will make you feel like you travel back in time. Walking into the hotel lobby will make you speechless. The architect did a great job planning the restoration of this very old and dilapidated but pretty splendid historic shopping passage by restoring it up to the smallest detail, preserving old elements and turning it into an iconic monument.
The interior design and architecture of the Párisi Udvar Hotel is a perfect mix of Art Nouveau style with Gothic and Moorish elements. World of Hyatt gained an amazing location with this architectural gem in Budapest. We’ve been already there to check out this brand new hotel which required only 8,000 points per night.
The first impression right after you enter the stunning lobby was absolutely astonishing. You can’t stop looking above and around you. For us, it is one of the nicest hotel lobbies we’ve ever been to. With Globalist Status, we’ve got an upgrade to the Heritage Suite and all the other status benefits, such as Club Lounge access and valet parking for free.
The suite was amazing with a great design, good view and it was spotlessly clean. Because it was my birthday we got a cake and macarons with fruits and champagne as a welcome gift. Two bottles of sparkling water were complimentary as well.
Breakfast in the club lounge was available from about 7:30 am to 10:30 am with a variety of fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables, ham and cheese as well as bread or cakes.
You could make your muesli with different toppings and milk or yogurt or try the delicious Bircher muesli. Additionally, you could order different kind of eggs from the menu. All-day long there is also a coffee machine, a good tea selection, fresh juices, and water as well as soft drinks ready for you.
From around 11 am to about 4:30 pm you can enjoy lunch at the club lounge with different sandwiches, cookies, and fruits. Shortly after that, at 5 pm warm and cold dinner in the lounge is waiting for you with daily changing menus.
The location of the club lounge at the atrium on the 1st floor is kind of special since it once used to be a courtyard with lots of windows and arcades around.
On the main floor in the lobby area you will find a restaurant underneath the stunning glass cupolas. Serving premium coffee and delicious Hungarian pastries as well as international cuisine throughout the day the café and restaurant turns into an elated cocktail bar.
The modern high-tech fitness studio and thoroughly furnished spa with sauna, steam baths, pool and more are rather small but feature everything you need for a short wellness retreat in a stress-free atmosphere.
After the weekend stay, we left with great impressions and enjoyed the luxurious environment that’s spread all over this special Unbound Collection by Hyatt Hotel.
Looking at this lovely hotel for a stay in a couple of weeks. Looks like point redemptions are now 20,000…. We’ll probably pay cash (160 euros) instead. Still looks like a really nice addition to Hyatt properties in Europe.
You’ll love the hotel! And yes, the 8,000 points (cat 2) rate didn’t last long, the new points redemption rate is 20,000. Enjoy Budapest!
