The American Express Hilton Surpass Card is again offering 100,000 Hilton points when you spend $3,000 within the first 3 months (OFFER EXPIRED).

This is a limited time offer that is set to expire on 11/30/2016.

This 100,000 points bonus offer is the highest offer ever seen on this card and was available earlier this year in June. I suspect that this offer will also become available shortly through a Amex's Refer-a-Friend program.

The standard offer available on this card is 50,000 bonus points, so with the increased offer you're getting an extra 50,000 Hilton points.

Note: Remember that you are only eligible to earn the welcome bonus once per lifetime on a specific American Express card product. This means that if you've had this same card before you may not be eligible to earn the bonus.

Card Benefits

One of the main perks that the American Express Hilton Surpass Card offers is automatic Hilton HHonors Gold status as long as you keep the card.

I actually consider Hilton Gold status the overall best level to have and keep. With it you will get:

  • 25% bonus award points.
  • Room upgrades upon availability.

Clearly these benefits are not jaw-dropping, but are very easy to attain by just having the card.

Apart from the free status the Hilton the Surpass card actually has limited benefits that would entice me to keep the card past the first year.

The Bottom Line

The Amex Hilton Surpass Card is again offering a 100,000 Hilton points welcome bonus after spending $3,000 within the first three months. This is the highest bonus offered on this card which does make it enticing to apply for the card at this level.

The card does have a $75 annual fee and rather limited travel benefits apart from free Hilton Gold status. However, given the sizable welcome bonus it may be worth it to earn the 100k points and then decide to keep the card or not after the first year.

If you frequently stay at at Hilton hotels the 12X points can really boost your points earning. The 6X points bonus spending categories that include U.S restaurants, supermarkets, and gas stations can also be a great way to quickly rack of points.
